Nice, Reasonably-Priced Wood Shogi Pieces
The Shogi pieces were exactly as described and arrived complete and with no damage. The kings (which are the largest pieces) are about 1 1/8 inches wide at the base, and so I think would fit on most Shogi Boards, which tend to run about 12 by 13.5 inches.
The wood is nice and the calligraphy is readable. It is in a calligraphic style, though, which took me a bit of getting used to if you are used to seeing pieces with a more printed style. The wooden box is also nice, fits all the pieces easily, and is quite compact.
I did not rate the durability of the product. They are wood with no moving pieces, so they should be pretty durable, but the pieces seem to be stamped and I do not know whether the calligraphy on the pieces will wear off, or how long that will take.
All in all, the product is good. It is what I was hoping for.
