Superb for the price
We bought these for general use, and tested them in a built-up, suburban area. Obviously the product info quotes 1.2km (0.7 miles) which will most likely be on flat ground on a clear day with zero obstructions. We wanted to try a "real world" test, so at 2115 in the evening, in generally damp, foggy weather, party 1 stayed on the ground floor inside our house (brick built with uPVC windows) whilst party 2 walked further and further away. Signal was almost lost at 482 metres (0.42km/0.2 miles) which, given the general conditions and numerous obstructions from buildings, wasn't bad at all. We have yet to test them in clear daytime in an open area (such as clear parkland) however for the price, these appear to be very good value. They have 16 channels, come with a removable belt clip, have an open/monitor function AND use the older Nokia-style battery (BL-5C) which charges via USB, so for the price, the functions are excellent... I just hope they last a reasonable length of time!

Good but not exactly as advertised

These are well made cuffs for Taiwanese manufacture, but the "standard" interchangable police-issue keys (for both Hiatts and TCH cuffs) despite looking the same, DO NOT FIT THESE HANDCUFFS. The metal key post has too great a diameter for the standard police key, and the flag is fractionally different in length (although they do look almost identical). I've also tried my own generic ASP key and that doesn't work either... See photos for comparisons. So be warned - if you cuff someone with these and pass them off to the police, they might not be able to remove the cuffs! Civil lawsuit time!
