Pin diode & Geiger?
Some pin diodes may be suitable to weakly pick up Alpha gamma radiation, according to articles on youtube?
This would reduce the size of a home radiation counter to fit inside an (altoid) pill box.

The Major problem sign up.
The Major problem is that I believe you have to sign up to download the app for this device.
I also found difficulty in obtaining ezsound with mirroring my macbook pro and El Capitan on a smart TV.
This is a problem with other dongles too, though sound with an app called Airparrot2 is obtainable the screen is obscured by a moving sound graph which I cannot remove at present.

Exelent preview to the game.
