Sad but very good
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich Even though this book is fiction it could have happened - and probably different versions of it happened many times over during World War 11. I wish everyone under 20 had to read an account of things that happened in Germany so that it could never happen again - but, unfortunately, it seems man's inhumanity to man has always been around and probably will until the end.
The characters were so well defined that you feel like you know them. As everywhere in the world there are good people and bad people. We cannot define a whole country by the actions of a few (Hitler and his followers).
The book is well written though it does have a strange narrator - well worth the money.
By the way, the movie is good also.
