The only [minor] negative about them is the consumption battery power that the camera drains.
Pays to have spare back up (2 AA ) batteries on hand when using the camera for extended periods of shooting. Best results is with a pair of the NiCad RECHARGEABLE AA batteries [ with a CHARGER ] to keep down the cost of HAVING TO REPLACE STANDARD AA batteries.
