Sony a bird in a gildedcage..(well plastic really)
Very small size but big sound. AM/Fm with loads of presets you can set up with a small amount of fiddling about (use the manual - its essential for getting the prgramming right). The lock feature is especially helpful in keeping the station tuned solidly in and avoids accidently changing station. Thoroughly tough and reliable but lightweight and hardly noticeable if clipped on. The countdown timer is great if you want to fall asleep listening to soothing sounds.I use Koss clipover headphones (titanium drivers)which were about £15.00 and work brilliantly with this little radio. The Sony has a bass boost switch that adds subtle depth to the sound field without muddying or thumping and I like it particularly with big orchestral music, so I leave it on all the time.
Absolutely cannot fault this pint-sized radio from Sony that really delivers a huge sound.Make sure you use decent headphones of course, the supplied ones are just okay and no more, but the sound really delivers big-time with good headphones.

Can a remake make it?
After watching the original a few times over the years I was a bit jaundiced about a remake. However Kurt Russell is outstanding in the role and nice to see Richard Dreyfuss playing a very different character than he did in the original. Spectacular effects throughout ALTHOUGH the opening biggie with the ship being engulfed by the tsunami wave was a bit cartoon like. The effects got better with loads of live action adding to the realism of the excitement. The pace was good and the drama convinicing with good players. A naturally caused disaster has to be predicatbly won by humans otherwise we can go away with a sense of nature winning over people. We all know thats whats happening in reality but we need the security blankets of heroes and overcoming all odds to survive in our fantasies. Goos stuff evry watchable and engaging.

We all live in a glowing submarine, a glowing submarine
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich This is one of those films I completely ignored when it was released in the cinema, believing it to be a remake of The Hunt for Red October. However it was on telly a couple of weeks ago and I was very impressed with it and bought the DVD. Since then I've watched it twice! It'a compelling story and other than Indiana Jones' totally crap Russian accent (which is actually funny after a while) it has action, duty, loyalty, blind obedience to the state all mixed in some good action and political thrillering. SFX are reasonable for its age and suspension of disbelief is coherent throughout. I like the good ole comradeship stuff even though the communism has long since been replaced as the worlds demon. Good sunday afternoon watching particularly if its snowing...
