Interesting book
It gives you practical advices for a beginner and probably medium experience user. You just jump over some learning experience that you might take it after many hours of practice. It is a good investment in time to read it before you practice. The price is excellent for what you receive as info. Otherwise paddling is nice since you experience nature and silence places.

More than a history
Am excellent book! The facts are outside the main stream of historians. An interesting perspective over the history closer to day by day reality. There are many things to understand and facts from the real history that might be extracted from here, rather than aristocratic facts. Good for those who like to read, both relaxing book for vacation and history book. Excellent references to this book can be done in day to day life in discussions wit friends during dinners.
