Good old tech, but consider a SAS solution instead.
These enclosures are quite old now but still useful for adding as direct attached storage.
They do use the EMC proprietary connector so you’ll need a suitable cable to attach to the host.
The version 1 and 2 power supplies are very noisy, so if you’re using them in a home lab then always go with the version 3 power supplies. They have PWM control so ramp down quite a lot.
The drive sleds are proprietary, but seem to be readily available used.
Speed is fine with the 4Gbps fibre channel, but you may want to go with a SAS enclosure to get more bandwidth and more modern connector.

It’s ok as a first step into VR
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich The VR space is still in its infancy, we still have to suffer with narrow field of vision, heavy headsets, limited battery life, and lack of support for those with vision problems.
The Quest 2 from oculus (now meta) requires you to have a Facebook account with a real name before you can use the headset.
If you wear glasses then be sure to test before you buy as you may have issues unless you wear contact lenses or get specially made Quest lenses for your prescription. There are only 3 options for inter pupil distance so isn’t ideal for everyone, and is a compromise for most.
The battery life and longevity on the Quest isn’t very good, this second hand unit lasts about 30 minutes so has to be plugged in to work.
The Quest link software is ok, but is laggy even on a high end PC with a usb connection to the headset, but you can use the headset on its own and that’s an ok experience.
Build quality is ok, the supplied head strap is atrocious for comfort.
It gets hot to the touch when gaming, and the included face shield gets pretty badly contaminated with skin oil and sweat. Getting a silicone face shield helps.
All in all it’s ok for the money, but be sure to test one before you buy to make sure that the optics work for you.

Good if you already have the drivers
These are good cards for a cheap 10gigabit connection. You’ll need to find the drivers for a windows environment as these are very old cards that aren’t supported out of the box.
They don’t run too hot and they’ll take standard SFP’s.
Great for the price I paid for it.
