So smooth
6 von 6 finden das hilfreich I am coming off of a quiver full of Canon 5Dmkiii, but also work with both Leica and Phase alone gear at my studio. While I got the 5DS for the high pixel count, I just fell in love with this model for the enhanced shutter and mirror box assembly in this. The 5DS is noticeably smoother and quieter than the 5Dmkiii and compared favorably to a Leica M-240 or M9. The sensor yield creamy, beautiful skin towns and really, really superior images. Wile the main studio Camera will remain my Phase One XF, the 5DS is the go to for wedding and location work for its smooth easy handlings, light weight, and excellent lens availability.

8 von 8 finden das hilfreich This model was the last one to have a built in Ethernet port. It has a SD reader, first generation thunderbolt, Firewire - this is what a "Pro" actually needs - connectivity. As apple seems to like to do, they have stripped away connectivity from the later models, forcing you to buy dongles for about any connectivity. I use mine for Audio and video production and post production. I view the newer models as targeted for "pro-sumer" where thinness seems to be perceived as desirable. this older model suits my needs better than anything that has come after - my recent purchase was actually forced by the ultimate logic failure of my original one (purchased new).

Peen master link
0 von 1 finden das hilfreich This chain uses a Peen style master link rather than a normal clip style. You have to peen the link into the chain with a hammer, which makes it way to easy to either get the link too tight (premature chain and sprocket wear due to a stiff link) or not peen it adequately which would lead to (potentially catastrophic) failure. There is no good mechanical reason that would make a peen link superior to a regular clip link...it’s just cheaper to manufacture. I am deeply disappointed in this chain.
