Runtime to spare
One of my "old" 3 Amp-hour BL1830's went for a walk on a jobsite, and - what? - they no longer sell replacements! Makita apparently planned this a while back, as they always had this tiny "rejection tab" molded into their battery cases. Guess they were still working on the whole "optimized charger" concept at the time but had to start selling competitive products in the meantime. Well, they finally worked it out - the new "Star System" does monitor tools for overheating and monitors batteries for overheating, overdraining and draining too quickly, and shuts them down until they cool off and/or get recharged correctly with one of their Star series chargers.
As for my old drill, screwgun and batteries? I, for one, am not sufficiently stupid that I keep using a battery until it barely turns a screw. Or keep drilling with some big-ass drillbit until I smell smoke coming from the drill motor. So this "lockout" system they engineered into the old/new tools is just a speedbump for me. Like others have posted around the web, a small file easily grinds down that little nub of plastic that prevents my "old" batteries from working on the new tools and from the new batteries from working on the old tools. I put quotes around "old" because Makita - first in battery construction tools and, in my opinion, still best - made these batteries and tools to last. 10 years of hard jobsite use and still going. I sure can't complain.
So, long story short, just use your head when you use your tools, and grind off those pesky plastic nubs.

Second time around!
This is my second Note 4. My first one lasted me 5 years of hard wear - construction sites, day and night use, etc. I used a ZeroLemon battery at first (until it swelled up and died a year later) and then just used stock batteries. Finally, the only reason I had to retire it was that the CHARGING PORT finally gave out.
So this time I got one of those do-it-yourself Qi wireless Charging Receivers and slapped it behind the battery cover. Voila! Wireless Charging! So this time I'll rarely use that charging port and this phone may last FOREVER!
I had compared specs on any other phones with a replaceable battery (vs a "built-in" battery - the "planned obsolescence" feature that nearly all the cellphone companies have adopted) and this one is still tops. Great screen, fast processor, good camera, all the usual bells & whistles and...a stylus!

Near-Perfect Action-Comedy Gem
After seeing it from Redbox, I had to have my own copy to see again occasionally. Wonderful script, great acting and direction. Bautista is one of those rarities - a big, bodybuilder-type guy with great comedic timing. And Nanjiani, of course, is right in his element with those wonderful deadpan responses and a wide range of emotions and attitudes.
Only one scene mars this perfect jem - the partner-go-shot sequence, where supposed LAPD cops are firing at a perp in a crowd of people - really broke the suspension-of-disbelief for a while. No, Dorothy, NO police force does that, and the audience knows it.
Otherwise, it's beautifully written and directed, a real hoot!
