Perfect Fit
Sometimes you should buy factory / manufacturer correct parts. This hose fit perfectly. Correct shape and size. Old hose was hard and brittle and ten years old. Don’t mess with it or try to reuse it. Replace it.
New hose has different part number. Don’t panic. After a little research, it appears that this hose fits several Chrysler/Dodge vehicles. It is simply an updated (superseded) part number.

Major Improvement in Rear Shock Movement
Wow! Who knew something so small would back such a big improvement.
My original shock bushings were plastic and solid aluminum. Over the years the hole in the aluminum bushing became oblong and would “clunk” as the shock tried to move. Because the plastic and aluminum bushings didn’t spin freely, the bushings would spin / slide / grind on the frame mounts. This left deep gouges in the frame. I cleaned and greased the bushings and shock pivot point regularly but was unable to stop the wear on the frame.
Instead of just replacing the primitive bushings with new primitive bushings, I decided to upgrade to the needle bearings. The installation was simple. Most likely due to the heavy wear on the bike frame and shock body. I was able to press them in by hand. I have replaced bearings on cars, motorcycles and aircraft. The bearings should fit really tightly. Again, due to previous wear, not the new bearings. In the future, I will change to the needle bearings before my first ride.
I am shocked (pun intended) by the newfound performance of the rear shock. It is now able to move freely on the pivots. Like it is supposed to. Wish I had done this sooner.
The needle bearings will need to be cleaned and greased like hub bearings. They are not truly sealed. This is easy to do. Just have to add it to the routine maintenance.
Changing the shock bushings was one of the easiest upgrades I’ve done. The performance I got (suspension actually working) is worth the cost.
Installed on 1999 Cannondale Super V 700. Shock is a basic Fox Vanilla coil over. Yes, an 18 year old mountain bike! I love it even more with this simple part change!

A must own item
This is a handy item to have around. Never worry about SIM card size again. Just get the smallest card and use one of these adapters. Cheap enough to buy two. Keep one set in the house and one in the car. Be a hero when a friend has the wrong size card!
