My favourite sci-fi film
I am a real "Trekkie" and love the original Star Trek series, with Star Trek - Next Generation a close second. I've also enjoyed most of the feature-length movies that followed from both series. However, for me, "First Contact" (with the 'Generation' cast) is the best Star Trek movie of them all. For me, it's the "complete package" - suspense in abundance, with Jean Luc Picard fending off 'The Borg' (by far, in my opinion, the "best baddies" to come out of the 200+ episodes of 'Generation'). The script writing is simply superb - witty and hard-hitting - impossible to pick out any favourite moments from the film. To summarise: The Enterprise goes back in time to save earth/if not the universe, from Borg domination. We've got Picard and Worf battling the Borg on the ship in space, and Riker, Troi, and Geordie on earth interacting with the magnificent alcoholic Zephryn Cockran (creator of the Warp Drive), just prior to his 'First Contact' with the Vulcans. However, I mustn't forget to mention Data's steamy encounter with the Borg Queen!! Sheer magic from start to finish.

If you're a Trekkie, you'll like this film
A very watchable Trekkie flick, with the 'Next Generation' cast. My favourite Star Trek film (of ALL the Star Trek films made) is 'First Contact', and I couldn't help compare the two; this one was made three years' later. A very happy start (Troi and Riker get married) and some very humorous moments involving Data. The main plot revolves around a mad man, who is somehow DNA-related to Picard (a little bit complicated). I love Picard almost as much as Kirk! Plenty of action and stunning special effects. Ladies, have your tissues ready ... the ending is very sad - end of an era, but also a new beginning. Enjoy!

Fantastic Film!
The best Pixar movie I've ever seen! Superb animation (especially in HD), a touching and unusual storyline, and lovely musical score. It's truly moving to see the relationship of the elderly gentleman and the young boy develop. Absolutely loved it and have watched it over and over. It's a great film for young and old with a twist on how it captures "modern life" and how the young, endearing child looks to the old man as his "father figure". It transpires the boy does have an "absent father" who obviously doesn't care about his son, as he's in a new relationship. Mr. Fredrickson, the old man, is at the point of total despair after losing his beloved wife, Ellie, and is further threatened by the authorities seizing his home as well. Together, he and the boy embark on an incredible journey. You have to see it yourself for the rest of the story ... it is awe-inspiring.
