You get what you pay for...

I was glad to find this replacement stylus at a reasonable price and it fit perfectly but it pales in comparison to the original. I thought that it would be the same specs as the original except for the color(original was yellow) but it's not even close. I immediately noticed that the volume was lower by a few dB and that the frequency response was reduced at both ends of the spectrum. There was a general compressed, cheap cardboard-like tone that could not be overcome by EQ adjustments. Very disappointing.

Pretty Flat

After trying several pairs of headphones for home recording, I realised that I needed open back to hear for a more accurate representation. These will work nicely. Fairly flat response with no frequencies sticking out in any obvious way. The bass is good but not excessive. There is a slight mid scoop from maybe 300hz-1Khz and a bit of an exaggerated airy high frequency boost around 10khz. Overall a fairly neutral and pleasant sounding set if not "prettied" up a bit. Very comfortable and easy to wear for long sessions. The difference from $100 level to $150 is remarkable! I'm curious to hear what the next $100 or more would sound like?
