1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Beeching's book is a masterpiece. This is exciting stuff, from a time period that so-called "modern educators" certainly don't teach, in part because they never bothered to learn about it and in part because, if they did know about it, they would do all they could to dismiss it, as they must needs dismiss more and more of the truth about past and present.
Beeching's narrative style is particularly effective. Any historian must sort through the facts selectively. However, it would be difficult to be unbiased in considering this event which had significant impact on the survival of Christendom.
This is history well told, and a recommended read for anyone who wants to educated himself.

The heck with the kids --- these tales are enjoyable for adults.
Well, OK, read it to the kids out loud if you insist on enjoying life with them... But you will enjoy these tales!
