Best Chaparral book around.
Back in 1966, at the age of fourteen, I witnessed the Chaparral 2D win the Nurburgring 1000 Km on the first weekend in June of that year, then my dad took my brothers and I to the Le Mans 24hr endurance race. The 2D did not finish there. In 1985 I was living in Big Spring, Texas, which is only about forty miles from Midland, where Jim Hall designed, built and tested his cars. I got the wild hair to call Chaparral Cars, Inc. and ask if Mr. Hall would sign the programs from 1966 that I had, a poster for the 1967 Nurburgring 1000Km that is of the start of the 1966 race that I was at and some other things Chaparral that I had. When I called, the lady that answered the phone told me that an Englishman that is a Corvette car specialist was going to be there in about six weeks and Mr. Hall would have all the cars out, that existed at that time, and I would be able to take pictures then. What an experience it was. The Englishman was Richard Falconer with his photographer buddy Doug Nye. I must of taken over two hundred pictures, to include pictures of both my sons, aged seven and four at the time, sitting the 2D. I have a picture I took, standing on a ladder that came out exactly as the one on the dust cover of Mr. Falconers' Book.
This book is the very first comprehensive book on the history of the Chaparrals and having at least six other books, that have come out since then, the best up to now. I highly recommend this book for anyones' collection. I have purchase several copies so that each of my children can share in the collection of pictures and the history. By the way, in 2004, when the Chaparral wing of the Petroleum Museum in Midland opened, I was there, along with both my sons, now grown men, for the entire four day event and became reacquainted with Mr. Falconer plus getting Phil Hill to sign copies of the poster, books, programs and other memorabilia for us. It was great to be able to share this once in a lifetime experience with them.

Handy tool carrying size.
Its' handy size makes use in our car great for carrying a few tools for emergencies.
