Fascinating story
A well written & well documented tale. Ms. Druett writes very clearly and definitely keeps your interest. The people in this story are so well fleshed out by the author's extensive research that you will feel you know them quite well by the end of this book. The story is tragic and engrossing and it's quite shocking to see what people really are capable of - the bad and the good. I read this on vacation on and I couldn't be drug away from it! I didn't want to put it down and I am looking for more books from this author.

Greatly improves circulation in extremities, for a myriad of benefits.
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich Got this for my 80 y/o dad because he had significant lower leg swelling due to a heart condition and pre-diabetes. His body was in bad enough shape that he couldn't lay flat to use the chi machine, but used it while sitting upright on the couch. In 3 weeks his ankles went from 13" in diameter to 9" in diameter, due to improved circulation - using it 3 times a day. He was a reluctant patient, but after he saw the improvement he used it several times a day. Made a believer out of a skeptic!
I (70 lbs overweight and mostly sedentary) began using the machine when I noticed the outside of my feet and toes becoming chronically numb. Using twice a day, the numbness was gone in 2 days. If I don't use it, the numbness comes back.
This machine will bring the blood back to your extremities. When the session is over, toes will tingle and burn with sometimes sharpish pains. That tells me it's working. If you can't or won't exercise, this could help you keep your toes, in extreme situations.
I can't recommend the product highly enough, but not a particular brand. There's so many.
I paid $104 for a new "Chi 3000", delivered. It's been in use for 3 years now, but an internet search showed none for sale anywhere.

For the most part, this isn't the soundtrack you remember.
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich This soundtrack is comprised mostly of filler or mood music that played during the movie and not so much the cool songs that you want to hear. I just got it used on eBay and there were 4 songs I remembered loving, out of 14. The rest were instrumentals I don't recall (mood music), Andean music accompanied by wailing lyrics (played when Maude was painting), some German techno music and a song where a woman *pants* a lot called "walking song". There's an obscure song by Nina Simone and an operatic aria (I think) that I kept because I liked them. I deleted exactly half of the CD from my music library because a lot of it sucked. If you can get this CD used and on the cheap, go for it, but I caution you not to pay full price. They bought the cheapest songs to fill this soundtrack and I'm sure have made a mint off the thing. I'm glad I got it for $5 incl. shipping, or I would be seriously pissed off right now.
I've seen the film 5 times.
