Great collection of Holmes with Basil Rathbone

Mad Max: Fury Road

turned out to be very disappointing. The plot, if there was one, was lost amid
the pyrotechnics, to the point, where you cared little about the main characters
or what happen to them.
I think the original, Mel Gibson entries were better on all counts, considering
when they were made and with the lack the digital special effects today's movies
incorporate. You were actually somewhat sympathetic to the characters against
their adversaries.
This movie is over the top and more like a video game than a movie. For awhile,
I was trying to determine if Mad Max was the action hero that the movie was
supposed to be about or his masculinized female counterpart. I'd say she got
the star billing and he assisted her, instead of the other way round.
It was a major yawn, which called for the eject button to put an end to this
mindless adventure.
Still curious why it received some good reviews........hmmm. I guess there
is just no accounting for bad taste.
