A magnificent movie that's appropriate for viewing anytime of the year

The movie itself is superb, of course, and the black and white nature of the video produces an authenticity that helps bring the settings back to the 1840's when Dickens first published his masterpiece. As for the bad aspects of the movie, give me a few decades and maybe I'll come up with something.

Anyone interested in the subject matter should find it beneficial to acquire the entire three-volume set.
The dimensions of this volume are significantly larger than the dimensions of most other modern reprints and thankfully the size of the print is significantly larger, too, so much so that you can read the text without keeping a magnifying glass handy.
There are no negatives to the book other than the fact that the book is not hardbound.

One of the finest productions ever.
From beginning to end this version of "A CHRISTMAS CAROL" compliments Dickens well. George C. Scott's performance is masterful and the quality of the DVD is excellent. This 1984 version differs somewhat from the 1951 Alistair Sims version, but both versions are worth viewing repeatedly and all of us can benefit from their wisdom.
