What a devotional should be

My Utmost For His Highest is a cut above any other devotional that I have ever read. Perhaps that is due partly in that the author never even knew that a devotional was what may come of his writings. His faith was tried in the trenches of life and his teachings an overflow of that life. That place where real, raw, faith is needed. Not theoretically, not to sell a book, but that dark secret place where God meets us and His life becomes our own. Those things will preach; as they say, and what it speaks to the reader is "Christ and Him crucified" the essence of our being made disciples. "Feed My sheep" Jesus told Peter. And His words beg the question, feed them what? What the Master gives, feed them that. Oswald feeds us that, and it is rich. And now, as I read, I hear The Lord's voice quietly say to me; What type of devotional is my life writing?

A pithy yet lighthearted indulgence

I must admit that when I watch a movie most of the time I want an escape from the world, something that I don't have to work at. This is that kind of movie with a wonderful mix of challenging life statements that can actually change the way that you think about love and friendship for the better. A very sweet story that I could watch again and again.

Hot Weather Beater

We have had over 4 weeks of 90+ weather and this keeps my drinking water cold! I put some ice in it at the beginning of the day and most days there is still ice in it when I'm draining it. EXCELLENT VALUE!!!!!
