Cheap, but SO worth it.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich For years I was baffled by the fact that the only aftermarket gas struts available for a Subaru hood were ridiculously expensive for what they do. 2 little pistons to hold up a lightweight aluminum hood... $150-200?? Insane. That's why I either suffered with the stock prop-bar or used bungie cords to pull the hood back out of the way for the last 13 years.
When I finally saw options on ebay for hood struts that had a reasonable cost, I didn't wait. I had nothing to lose really... and all I have to say is that I am IMMENSELY happy with these struts. For the price, they are an excellent investment.
Pros:
- Cheap.
- Installed in under 10 minutes.
- I can open the hood with one hand now (They have just the right amount of lift pressure.. just lift until the pistons take over and let go).
- They open the hood high enough to be out of the way and allow great access to the engine bay and the pistons themselves do not impinge access from the side.
Cons:
- None so far.
If you work on your own car and/or frequently need access to the engine bay, get a set of these struts. Do it now.
