Safety 1st Lever Handle Lock (not for everyone)
I’m sure this product would work great for others, however my handle is too thick at the base and I can’t connect and lock both pieces together so it was a waste of money. I was really looking forward to this product as my 2 year old can unlock the bottom lock and runs out the front door without a second to spare. He cannot reach the top lock yet but he has slightly reached it enough to lock us out. I’ve invested in a different lock that seems to work but there is no way to lock it after his dad leaves early for work in the morning so I have to get up and lock it. My child is relentless and I wanted to have him come into our bedroom as we just went from crib to toddler bed. We tried this for 3 nights but it became a pain with making sure the gate was closed to the kitchen which cannot be done when one of us goes to work in the morning as it is too loud. I finally had to put a door knob cover on the inside of his door to keep him safe and he just yells like he did before when he could t get out of his crib and we go and lay him back down. I could not live without doorknob covers. We have about half of what we need and need to get more for the other doors. It’s a life saver. The drawers, however is another story. After o my 2 months of the drawer locks the stick on the drawer and the side of the cabinet, he had managed to lock them and unlock them in a flash so they are now pointless. Thankfully he cannot get into the cabinets but I’m sure it won’t take him long. Let me tell you, the smart ones are the children who are very curious, pay attention to everything, notice your every move, and get into literally everything on purpose regardless of time out. My first daughter was the same. The second not quite a bad. My son is the worst so far and my 4th we have yet to find out in about a year. It seems the smarter your child is, the more terrorizing they can be so all of you out there who struggle to no end and just feel like throwing your hands up, just remember that your child is super smart and it will turn into a more positive thing as they start to grow up a bit. I hope this finds those who have troubles with a bit of ease and remember your kid isn’t the only one and your kid isn’t the worst and most crazy terrible 2 toddler in the world (even tho is feels that way anyway, lol)
