Wisconsin Death Trip -- and What a Trip It Is!
I first saw this book in the mid-1970's. The images from the book burned onto my memory and I've been looking for another copy all these years. The focus is on the lives -- often fragile and painful lives -- of ordinary Americans in out-of-the-way places, using multi-media documentation. Today, we take the juxtaposition of photos, historical documents, newspaper clippings and commentary for granted. When this was first published, this approach to history was remarkable, and the entire volume is still riveting.

Cargo paints that aren't too long and don't bag in the seat.
Okay, these shorts are not beautifully made. The color, though, is rich and the entire feel is far more slim & modern than your usual long, baggy-butt cargo shorts. I liked them so much I bought a second pair in blue.
