Interloper - Six Dragons (CD 2003)
I found my first copy of this little gem in a plastic crate full of promo-CD's dumped in a scuzzy second hand shop in London. It was the most interesting out of maybe 35 pretty decent CD's. Within about 40 seconds of track one, playing loudly in my van as I bombed back up north along the M40, I knew the hour and twenty minutes I'd spent rooting and sorting had been more than amply rewarded.
In the modern 'electro-jazz' or 'hip-hop-fusion' type genres, this is a full bore classic. I've since found out it was 5 years in the making, and the attention to detail shows... whilst working on a spiritual/visceral level also...because the tunes and melodies are so damn good. Some of the arrangements are so clever... so rewarding in both terms of surprise, cheekiness and musicality...That I found myself cheering out loud on that first long trip on hearing some of the smart whip-backs, beat breaks and occasional but inspiring and/or witty vocal samples. I can't recommend this highly enough and am buying many copies to give away to any of my buddies remotely interested in what could be described as "clever crossover jazz-vibe style" sounds. To give you some idea of where I'm coming from I'll list my own related musical influences, after finishing by saying this album is absolutely fantastic. 10 out of 10.

Easy charger
It's light, it's right and it works a treat. Also...if your socket geography means you cant fit the unit above a surface, the charger section can be married with a standard two pin appliance cable, of which there are a lot kickin about. Handy.
