A good match patch.
Most patches are much thinner material than the original so unless the jeans are very worn and thinner they show up much more. These are nearly as heavy as the original .

Better shape, better made
I had previously bought a cheaper, thin set of cone spanners that were intended to cover a range of sizes but they weren't strong enough to cope and quickly started slipping. This is not that much thicker but is a better shape and better quality and did the job well.
