Fun 8x8x8 LED matrix kit for experienced electronic hobby builders
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Be prepared for a fun but very challenging kit. It arrived with no instructions at all, not even a parts list or schematic. When I emailed the seller for instructions, they referred me to a website that my antivirus software wouldn't let me visit, so I was on my own. YouTube has a variety of videos that are very helpful, and there are a variety of ways to construct the LED matrix, but that part of the project alone took about 16 hours, and I have a lot of experience. The materials are of good quality (including a plated-through PC board) and the value for the money is excellent. I found that making a wooden jig for LED placement (constructing 8 separate 8x8 layers) made the final product look very nice and work more predictably. There are also a few left over resistors and capacitors, and plenty of extra LEDs in case you run into any dead or dim ones (I found only 1 dim one...repeated testing of these during the build is a must). I highly recommend the kit, but your soldering skills need to be top-notch, and you need to have more than just a basic electronic knowledge base. Total time putting this together was around 22 hours.

Great laughs from start to finish! Very enjoyable!
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich A comedy that has a distinctly British flavor! This movie keeps me laughing from beginning to end every time I watch it (and that's been quite a few times). Rowan Atkinson ("Mr. Bean") is in a role unlike anything else he's ever done, and the same can be said for Emma Thompson. Jeff Goldblum portrays Dexter, the 'Tall Guy' straight man to Rowan Atkinson in a very long-running and successful broadway comedy show in which he is abused, humiliated and under-appreciated. By chance, Dexter meets and falls in love with Kate, a nurse (Emma Thompson) but is too shy to ask her out, so he subjects himself to multiple episodes of (hilarious) unnecessary medical treatment just to try to be near her. Eventually, they do become a couple and Dexter finds new employment as the title role in an ill-conceived but wildly successful musical based on the life of John Merrick, the 19th century 'Elephant Man.' But with the success comes temptations that could ruin the relationship with his new love, and buried under all the makeup, he finds he has no more identity in his new role as he did taking abuse in his old one.
The film's plot is rich with minor twists and numerous very colorful and hilarious characters, but you must pay attention or you might miss a few lines of dialogue out of the blue that could have made you laugh until your ribs ached. There is some profanity (mostly from Rowan Atkinson) and nudity (the funniest love scene I have ever seen, bar none!), and the film manages to demonstrate some good messages about friendship, fidelity and self-worth. Watch for the director in a cameo role as a drunken fan at the 'Elephant!' opening night after-party. Even just thinking about this movie puts a smile on my face at the end of a hard day.

Not as easy as it looks, but well worth it.
I bought this in January 2016 from diamondmall, several years before I ended up needing it...the original top stitching had started to unravel, so I wanted to be have it on hand. When the rear window finally fell out, it was time. I actually found and bought an installation DVD on eBay that guided me through it. 'Easy' is not a word I would associate with this, but I know it would likely have cost me $3K+ to have it done, and the poor car's book value wasn't much more than that. It took me an entire weekend to do it. The biggest problem I had was getting the interior material (not being replaced) to adhere well around the new rear window---an area of great tension when the top is up, and it repeatedly came loose after the install. Double stick tape wasn't strong enough, so I ended up using either contact cement or gorilla glue when the top was partially down with no tension and let it set for several days. It's been on my car for almost 5 years now and still looks very nice..in fact, it was so nice when the top was new, I even got a new paint job & tinted headlights. The last picture is before the paint job but it still looked a whole lot better than before. I do advise a thorough cleaning and then using Armor-All on it twice a year (I'm in Arizona so I need to do everything I can to protect against the sun).
