Is a word picture of the man

I have an interest in history especially the civil war and as a veteran I have always wondered what were the men like in both the Union and CSA armies . How they could fight so hard and die in such brutal combat It was not only the cause but leadership. The CSA it was Lee and Jackson. The union it was Grant and Sherman and Sherman I think knew how to build unit id better than the others plus his personality and personal life is a stand alone story . The title of the book says it all
