Un-perfect spy
Different from other LeCarré-based series, the filming of this Spy shows a lot of gaps, making the reason of his behavior quite unclear. The portrait of his younger days has actors that have no resemblance ag all to his adult figure. The depiction of his relation with his father, that one must imagine to be the motor of the story, is superficial and irritating. Also, the women are shadows without personality and you never see why they do have a rapport with him. It doesn't hold a candle to other spy movies/series based on the author

barry manilow for adults
First of all I have to mention that Barry Manilow isn't my cup of tea, at all. But this record, a more jazzy effort, is full of great melodies and inspired poetry, that convey the intended idea of someone drowning his soul in a late night bar. Manilow, who also arranged the music, is surrounded by top drawer musicians, including the warm sound of Gerry Mulligan saxophone. The voices of Tormé and Vaughan add weight to one track each. The rhythm team couldn't be better: Billy Mays, Mundell Lowe, George Duvivier and Shelly Manne ! This could never go wrong and it doesn't.

Cool Southern
Accompanied by orchestras led chiefly by Camarata, both Southern records avoid her piano, differently from previous ones. But this changes nothing in her nuanced and controlled delivery. In often recorded songs (Little Girl Blue, Autumn In New York, Smoke Gets In You Eyes), and in seldom heard others (Give Me Time, Can I Forget You?, Speak Softly To Me) she delivers her intimate and elegant style. Quite heavenly to hear such music amidst the high-pitched hysterical kind of female voice that seems to be the 'today' style of singing!
