Very good, not perfect, beter design than leading brand
- Multiple mounting options
- Can be used with or without all components should you need to mount on lower then designed height
- Can be rotate in 90deg increments on to the VCT-AM1 mount
- Angle(s) can be fine tuned to fit your need
- Securing thumb-screws are good design and doesn't require much torque to secure
- I will use it as addition to helmet mount, removing intermediate link and screw and fine tune the angle to find perfect camera angle.
- Problem with almost all helmet mounts is that you have one time option to stick it to the helmet. Another limiting factor are increased number and position of the vents moving far to the top of the helmet. This combined make it almost impossible to find perfect fit for the first time. For these reason, you need something in between the adhesive mount and camera. This could be angle (like this one) or swivel type of mount.
- Another important reason (applied to some older type of Sony camera) is they have USB connector on the bottom of the body that makes difficult to almost impossible to connect it on the lower profiles mounts
