OER 3935941 Reproduction Dash Pad for 1969 Camaro w/o AC, Black

Poor fit.

Out of the box, the dash pad looked pretty good. When I went to install the dash pad, I noticed that the bolts did not line up with the holes in the dash. The four screw holes in the instrument cluster also did not line up for the screws. I had to re-drill some holes. I broke three spring clips trying to get the pad into the dash. After I finally got the pad installed, the back side of pad towards the windshield, looked like it was trying to bow up a little in two spots. This was probably because of the stress of forcing it into place on the dash. I've got two weights on the bulges to help push them down. Maybe with time, the dash pad will look flat on the dash. I tried to be careful not to scratch the dash, but I did anyways because of forcing it into the dash holes that did not line up. Also, the dash pad looks thick around the instrument cluster. It over hangs the tops of speedometer and fuel gauge bezels, and the climate control panel. There is a gap at the bottom of the pad, just past the instrument cluster, but closes as the pad gets near the glove box. I probably should have spent the extra money and purchased the more original type of dash pad. I have installed a different dash pad on another Camaro and it went into place with no problems.
