Solid older tech.
Not the newest and fanciest, but I've used several of these over 3 years with no problems. They're easy to set up, have great wifi range and very rarely need a reset. The prices have come way down so these units are a good value.

Good counter in its day - you might get lucky, but assume it needs repair
This was a very capable unit in its day but mine was certainly showing its age. Like much electronic equipment that is ~30+years old, "working" is a relative term. Mine came with a dead comm port and a system battery that had burst, corroding several components. There was also some dirt in the internal plumbing and detector. I got it mostly operational but it took time and care since some of the components are custom and would not have been replaceable. If you have the time and expertise to properly clean optics and safely restore high-voltage electronics, the Met One 205 may work for you. Note also that some of these units were customized at the factory so their particle size ranges may not match the data sheet. Mine is non-standard.
