It's like getting a tripod for free and you pay the shipping!
Not only is this tripod a bargain, it really is a heavy duty unit, very substantial. You don't get what you pay for, you get more! I could hardly believe such a tripod could be had for less than $20 shipped. Get 'em while they're hot!

The devil is in the details but it's an angel instead!
So much detail for such a small diecast model make this a good one for those looking to show off a station wagon in their collection.

Great radio for emergency prep!
2 von 3 finden das hilfreich Battery-powered radios are everywhere. This one has something I have never seen in one though. You install both 4 D-cells and 4 AA's, then use a switch to pick which set to use. Battery backup for the batteries! Since solid state radios with battery power can have a fairly long period of operation before the batteries die, imagine how nice it is to have some reserve to go along with that "just in case"? During an emergency situation you may not be able to get more batteries so having a radio which has the ability to provide a reserve is valuable.
AM and FM reception are outstanding. The sound is strong and clear. I wish this radio had a better tuning knob but that is the only down note. When it comes to carrying straps it takes a back seat to no radio and it is fairly light even with 8 batteries installed, so expect ease of portability during a need to move,
There is not much on shortwave these days compared to past decades but you can still get WWV (the time signal) on 5, 10, 15 and 20 Mhz rather well, then use the information to set the clock, which can operate in either 12 or 24 hour mode.
Since this radio is out of production you can only get it used and that means varying conditions. Be sure to buy one that is as good as possible if you want to count on it.
