Good replacement for old DVD recorder

I needed to replace a nine year old EX-83, which must have recorded hundreds of DVD. After years of faultless service, it was beginning not to recognise DVD-RW discs.
New models increasingly do not have SCART or component video inputs, which means they have limited use; one can only record fron TV. (perhaps this is the influence of Netflix etc, who copy protect many of their films. Also people do not use a DVD recorder as a "catch up" device anymore.)
So this product was just what I needed. A nearly new (shop display) model, which directly replaced my old model.

Maglite torch repaired
I dismantled the Maglite torch, to remove old batteries that had swollen. I broke the switch mechanism.
The new part worked just fine.
However, Maglite spares are ridiculously expensive, but at least they are available

Good value DAB radio with fine sound.
The sound quality is much better than expected, with a fair volume and bass extension for a radio of this size. DAB reception is better than older radios that I have. I use it as a bed side radio, so its light weight means the radio has to be held down with one hand and the buttons operated with the other hand. The sleep function can only be accessed through the menu; thus it is rather complicated to set. One really needs a single button for the sleep function, but then the radio is not advertised as a bedside radio.
At the price I paid (£44) it must be one of the best value for money portable radios on the market.
