A great buy--and fits all DVD Regions!
This is an excellent collection of British Transport Films from the 1950's and a bit beyond. Especially good as the films are either Region 1 or Region 0, or all regions. Too many of the BT films are designated as only Region 2.

An important, useful, and very readable study-- well researched.
An excellent overview and analysis of British domestic architecture and tastes during the 1920's and 1930's. I would say that many of Dr. Ryan's observations about UK tastes and aspirations would apply equally to the USA for this period. A definite read for those who have any interest in comparative British and American domestic architecture, interior design/decor, etc. from the interwar years. Dr. Ryan's book makes a useful companion volume to Lisa Turner's study of the Architects' Small House Bureau, which offered house designs and other services at low cost to prospective individual home builders. I also enjoyed Dr. Ryan's case histories of individual homes and their respective owners.
The only thing I would like to add is I hope Dr. Turner has at least considered writing a sequel on the Ideal Homes of the postwar decades, say, 1946-1975.

Offers good squirrel resistance which is improved if you also install an overhead baffle.
