You get what you pay for
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Was great, at first. It installed well on my Westone W40s. The controls function as expected for the iPhone, there's no lags, and the jack fits nice and snugly. For 12 bucks and free shipping, it seemed like good value for the money, but the control started misbehaving after less than a month. The one thing I would change would be to make the jack 90 degrees instead of straight, but that's a minor quibble.

Superb sound, great selection of eartips, excellent build quality, very comfortable. Well worth the price.
Extremely detailed sound reproduction. The bass extends very low and is very tight, mids are smooth and satsfying, especially vocals, and the highs are very precise. As with all IEMs, eartip selection is critical. This is especially true for the Xelentos because the nozzles are shorter than most - that is, they don't extend very far into the ear canal. Fortunately, they come with the widest range of tips I've ever seen from a manufacturer. That said, I am currently experimenting with 3rd party tips to find the perfect seal. They're also very comfortable to wear - you can barely feel them in your ears, and the 3 button remote works great with iPhone. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the sound quality, and the build quality appears excellent. My main experience with higher-end IEMs is with Westone W40. The Xelentos are much better in terms of sound, and especially build quality. With less than a month's use, however, I'm not in a position to comment on their durability.

Expensive, but well-designed and easy to use

The pairing with the Sony NW-WM1A is simple, however every time you restart the Walkman you need to pair again by pressing one of the remote's buttons, but this isn't the fault of the remote. In operation the remote works well: very little lag if any, and it's designed with small raised ridges on the remote so that you can operate it without having to take it out of your pocket (i.e., you can just feel the right control). The remote is tiny (7cm x 2cm x .5cm) and light, which is good, but I can see how easy it would be to lose accidentally. Sony's own documentation warns against this and they include two types of clips that attach to the remote to prevent this. Battery life is decent with the included CR1620 lithium coin cell battery; they claim 8 month life based on 2 hours use per day. Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase, with the only complaint being the price, which is on the high side. It would have earned 4 stars if it was less expensive.
