Gorgeous display

I've owned IPS and TN panels and prefer IPS for its truer colors and wide viewing angles. TN panels have faster response times, but the color shift when viewing at different angles is bothersome. This drawback is especially bad with larger displays. The VA panel in the LG 32UD59-B is a close cousin of IPS. It looks beautiful, and to me indistinguishable from IPS. Colors are great, pixels are tight & smooth, and response time is fantastic IMO. Highly recommend this monitor.

Good for 9v. Can damage AA / AAA batteries

I bought this primarily for the 9v charging which works great. The AA / AAA charging is done in pairs. It charges them in series, which means that the two batteries must be at a similar charge level and total capacity. Otherwise one will get overcharged leading to a damaged cell. Charging in series is the same as using batteries in series, for example a remote control. Notice how when the remote runs out of juice, some of the cells have charge left but others are completely dead. This is because no two batteries are completely identical, so one will discharge (or charge) faster. Charging a pair of batteries in series is a recipe for disaster. It will work ok in some cases, and at first the batteries may seem ok, but repeatedly doing so will put them more and more out of balance and worsen the over-charging of one of the two batteries.
