Just what I needed

Freezer would not stay at 0°F and the fridge would not stay at 37°F...frost built up on the back wall of the freezer and I had to thaw it out manually....lost a lot of food in the process. Thought it was a fluke until it happened a second time and I did a littlev research and symptoms pointed to the defrost element. I checked it out and found that after ten years, the original was toast. Did not want this to happen again, so bought a genuine GE part so I won't have to deal with this for another ten years...sometimes it does not pay to go cheap and spending a little more for the genuine part is worth it.

A decent card for the money and definitely better than the no-name Chinese knock-offs

I went to the HP website looking for the drivers for the card and came up empty. I ended up downloading a driver package directly from the nVidia website that covers the Geforce 1050 class of cards and that seems to work fine. I'm not a gamer, so not sure how it stacks up with other video cards, but it seems to be fast and responsive and the price was good compared to other name brand cards. I had been having some issues in my old system with the video card and this card appears to have taken care of those problems. I actually had purchased the card for an HP G2 SFF system, but stupidly did not take into account that this was not a low profile card, so my bad. Works fine in my old system and it's full sized case.

Metal is the way to go...

Much better than plastic covers. Cost more but will outlast many plastic ones.
