COLONY begann als Plattenladen und im Laufe der Jahre expandierten wir in Noten und alles, was mit Musik zu tun hat. Mein Shop war bekannt als der berühmteste Plattenladen der Welt! Wir waren bekannt als der Ort zum Einkaufen für alle Ihre Musikbedürfnisse. Kolonie befand sich im Herzen von New York. am Broadway im denkmalgeschützten "Brill Building". Der Slogan der Kolonie auf unserer Einkaufstasche sagte alles "I FOUND IT" bei der KOLONIE. Die Liste der Prominenten, die bei COLONY RECORDS eingekauft haben, ist so legendär wie der Laden.
