Product Information

This lightweight, compact standard zoom lens is practically identical to the EF28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 USM optically and mechanically, but it has a leather toned exterior finish for a higher quality look. It focuses to 0.5m throughout the zoom range using inner focusing. Inner focusing and the Ring USM focusing motor provide silent, high-speed focusing. It has full time manual focus, which allows manual focusing without leaving the AF mode. The non-rotating front ring, which fascinates use of accessories, and other advanced specifications are carried over from the original EF28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 USM.

Canon zoom lens
This was not marked up as mk2 but believe was a late mk1 and was same as mk2 Very good walkabout lens.... used at wedding for out takes... Sharp enough... on apsc sensors multiply by X1. 6 for accurate focal lengths.... Have not done precise optical test for sweet spot.. would be approx 2 stops down from max aperture probably mid range say 50-60mm buy it and enjoy ### PS have created excellent bokeh at105mm too .....

A bargain price and great qaulity
I am new to digital cameras so i am looking at it from a perspective of a newbie. I looked at other makes of lens for the camera and they did not get the same good write up from the reviewers.

Ef 28-105 f3.5-4.5 ii usm real world opinion
This lens has been very impressive, it produces very clean and sharp images, the usm motor makes focusing quite and very quick. Having used this on both a 5d3 and 7d the len works well on both. Excellent for travelling due to compact but solid build. Only slight down side is that the lens has a very short zoom range at f3.5 jumping quickly to f4+ from around 35/40mm. But on the whole an excellent value for money lens with near L series build quality and image quality. Recommend

Canon 28-105m/m lens.
Lens is good optically, will print up to A4 without apparent loss of sharpness. Build quality is not up to Zeiss standards, but neither is the price, Zoom is a bit on the stiff side,but overall good value for money.

Great lens - classic canon quality
This is not a modern L series IS canon lens but excellent quality nonetheless. This version has the seven aperture blades and was manufactured in Japan (which is particularly why I bought it). It has lived up to expectations and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a piece of kit.
