The Samsung EX-S30NB lens is a standard pancake lens with a focal length of 30 mm and minimum focusing distance of 9.8 inches. Intended for digital SLR or 35 mm SLR cameras, the Samsung lens can be mounted to any body with an NX-type mount. The features of this 30 mm f/2.0 lens make it ideal for shooting in low-lighting conditions and allows the user to use the fast shutter speeds to freeze the action. The Samsung lens is 0.9 inches long with a diameter of 2.4 inches and weight of only 3 oz. The maximum f/2.0 aperture in the Samsung EX-S30NB lens captures dramatic images with a shallow depth of field, and the 30 mm fixed focal length provides exceptionally bright images. The Samsung lens consists of five elements in five groups and features an image stabilizer without an autofocus (AF) actuator. In addition, this 30 mm f/2.0 lens has a filter thread size of 43 mm and a maximum viewing angle of 49.5 degrees. Can fit my NX1 in a cross-body bag using this lens
It's lightweight, gives very good image quality, and with an NX1, it fits in a Terminus Mini EZ cross body/sling bag together with a 1 liter bottle (although just barely, you could fit smaller items more comfortably). For street photography, you wouldn't scare people with an "overpro" lens like the 16-50mm S that Samsung has while still getting very good images. For food photography, a wide aperture is welcome, especially in places where the lighting might not be strong. The only minor gripe I have is the autofocus noise, which might creep into videos. Always ready 30mm pancake.
This Samsung 30mm pancake has the optical quality combined with my NX500 that I can have a ready shot. The images can be cropped quite a bit and still be beautiful. Then I can choose my other lenses if I decide to. I use 43-52mm rings and added 52-58mm rings without any vignettes issues. The pictures are cropped from a quick vertical photo.

Very nice lens.

Great walk around lens
This little lens is great for walk around photography where you don't want to carry a heavy, bulky lens, and it won't stand out and scare people (who are naturally shy of professional photographers). It is sharp and the fast f/2 opening will let you work in low light without cranking the ISO up too high. Must have pancake lens for NX
