With a minimum focal distance over the entire zoom area of 49cm, and a maximum magnification of 1: 4 (at 200mm) this remarkable lens achieves high magnification zoom performance with the compact size of a standard zoom lens. Excellent lens
I was looking for something as a walk around lens to use with my Minolta Maxxum 7. This has a wonderful range and appears to be a very well built lens. It is small and light weight and a joy to use. Those reviews that questioned it's sharpness conceded that it is nicely sharp after stopping down to f/5.6 or f/8 which is where I customarily shoot anyway. great little lens
It arrived in great condition, and works perfectly. Note that it's cheap because there's no built-in auto-focus. Focus-assist works just fine on Alpha models, though, and since I didn't have auto-focus at all until the last decade, not a big deal. SO, it you're looking at one of these for sports, or anything else that moves unpredictably, probably not your best bet. It takes a lot of practice to develop skill with manual follow-focusing. Cheap good lens!

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't
