A generation has passed since HW Wind did so also. It is wonderful that some of his best writing is preserved in this volume. There is no current sports writer that spends the time and effort to traverse a venue to capture the real essence of an event, much less transport the reader to capture those feelings. This collection is for all those who will appreciate fine sports writing, especially those who've never experienced it.
