KEEPER OF THE FLAME was the first film in which George Cukor directed the dynamic duo of Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. Tracy plays top-notch reporter Stephen O'Malley, who travels to a small town to investigate the accidental death of national hero Robert V. Forrest, a World War I veteran. Forrest's widow, Christine (Hepburn), has become a recluse, and O'Malley also faces a lack of cooperation from the dead men's friends and relatives. It turns out they are covering up the truth of Forrest's political views, which are revealed to be less than patriotic. Great noir!

Mystery Movie
The story was more of a mystery, which kept me interested from beginning to end. I especially liked the young boy. What a fine actor he was but his name wasn't listed in the credits. Keeper of the flame...
This movie was made because of a or the same party trying to take on the Government back in the day of Roosevelt... A news paper reporter made her and it known ... But this movie was badly made , only for about a minute does she explain and not that well , what this was all about... Question were the makers of this movie afraid of said party .... Story line with interesting twist
This is a great classic movie, with riveting performances by stars of the era. It starts with a reporter visiting the widow of an American hero and finding that not everything is as it seems.
