Excellent on most levels, with a few problems
The K2600X is a mindblowing music workstation. Other than the 72-lb weight and old-school floppy disk, this instrument sounds way ahead of its 1999 production date. I'm thrilled to have gotten my hands on this instrument and plan to use it for some upcoming performances and projects. Unfortunately, nearly the entire length of the keyboard has squeaky keys. I've learned since that this is often the case with FATAR keyboards from this era. When performing in a large space with a PA, which I have already done with it, this is not a problem. However, some of my performances later this year will be in intimate spaces in which the squeaking will be irritably audible to both myself and my audience if I do not have it fixed. This fix will require pro-technician work and will cost about $300. Could be worse! Oh, it also randomly freezes. I can't figure out why, but it's upsetting. The panic button doesn't resolve this, only turning off the power and rebooting seems to work. Fortunately, this hasn't happened in a performance yet. I cringe to think that it may! All in all, I'm happy with the instrument, though can't give it a 5-star review based on the squeaky keys and the occasional freezing.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Sound Transfer Kurzweil K2600xs to PC3K keyboard!
Due to my older keyboard having only SCSI drives, I could not use any of the sounds that I had loved and programed in the past - until I happened on Scott's site. I finally have my older programs and setups working on the PC3K and am totally happy. Scott's instruction booklet and a quick phone call to him made it possible to make the SCSI connections work. AND... The memory card is 8 gigs - and Scout fills about 3/4 of the space with great sounds that were ones I had actually been looking for - and the quality made me smile. Compact and reliable solution for SCSI drive
The SCSI emulator board and mounting hardware are a perfect replacement for the old, noisy, and heavy 9GB SCSI drive in your Kurzweil K-series unit. The installation is a breeze, and even easier if you have an existing SCSI drive (4 screws and two cables). You went above and beyond the call of duty this time Scott.
I really want to thank you for your great products and service. My Kurzweil K2600S is an amazing piece of gear, and it will last me a very long time. I think I fried a previous CD ROM player you sent due to static discharge on a SCSI cable. The drive is still good, but it won't mount the drive. I've purchased several items from you in the past, and I'm totally satisfied with all of them. I thought I'd get the same CD ROM's, but no, you sent me 21, and some awesome and different ones. 90's technology in 2016!
