Great Friction Mount GPS Base
It's lightweight yet does a great job holding the GPS stable. It's moldable so it forms well to most dashboards. What I like best are no suction cup is needed and the arm the holds the GPS folds down making it easier to store. What I least like about it is the base is somewhat long which makes it a little more difficult to find an appropriate place in the car to store it. Easy to use mobile mount for your Garmin GPS
After falling off of the windshield several time, I looked into dash mounts for my GPS. Garmin makes a more expensive and heavier dash mount. Unfortunately it is too heavy for use in rental cars when I travel. This one is much lighter and works fine. Note - I protect the sticky surface with wax paper and a Ziploc bag when I pack it up for travel. Note - I believe that the surface can be cleaned under running water, but there were no instructions and I haven't tried it yet. Manufacturer Refurbished? Hard To Tell!
Item said it was refurbished. I cannot see a scratch or anything on it. The sticky bottom looked brand new and stuck perfectly to my dash. The moveable joint seemed nice and stiff with no play in it. Very handy GPS mount
This is a great improvement over the mount I had previously, which was a clumsy, round beanbag type that was difficult to store and very heavy. This mount really stays put on the dahboard because it can be shaped to the countour of the car. When not in use, it folds down and is very compact. Versatile and does what you want, but
The only "but" is that depending on the specific curvature or flatness of your particular dashboard, it might not fit perfectly flush. However, even with less than 100% surface contact, it seems to stay put just fine and there is enough friction. This really isn't a limitation of the product -- which is well designed -- since it does want to be as universal as possible, it's more a limitation of the specific vehicle. Garmin friction mount
This works great in my 20013 sonata. This car has a windshield that does not work well with the suction cup system and a down sloping dash that makes it difficult to just set something on it. Finally a Garmin Mount that actually is good
I originally purchased a Garmin GPS which came with two different mounts which attached to the vents in the air conditioning and another with a suction to the windshield. Both were garbage and kept falling off the vents and to adhering to the windshield for any long period. I purchased this mount and finally found one that will work in my vehicle. Great GPS mount!

Lightweight and no sliding on dash!
Works great Will not slide around in sharp curves. My GPS is a 5" and the suction cup would not hold it to the windshield . Not very grippy
Adequately holds position during normal turns, but always slid off the dash of my '10 Dodge Charger during even gentle accelerations.
