This oscilloscope has most of the goodies that the average technician will cherish and with a 250 Mhz band width (using probes P6106) you can do two meter work on the amateur radio bands. The controls are smartly laid out. Vertical amplifier controls on the left and horizontal/trigger controls on the right along with a B'delayed function that is really cool to use with your counter set to Time A to B and this selects the part of the wave you want your counter to define. The bandwidth in analog form, not digital, is the reason I love this scope.
These older Tek scopes are a real value for someone with the skill and experience to troubleshoot and repair them. While a comparable new digital scope has more features you can expect to pay well over a $1000 for one. The symptoms listed with the sale of my most recent Tek 475 purchase were resolved by replacing a $3 electrolytic capacitor in the power supply. I have also repaired two others by simply reseating connectors and socketed transistors. The disassembly/assembly, troubleshooting and solder work do require skill and experience.
