The story of a team of African-American women mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the US space program. As the United States raced against Russia to put a man in space, NASA found untapped talent in a group of African-American female mathematicians that served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history. Based on the unbelievably true life stories of three of these women, known as "human computers", we follow these women as they quickly rose the ranks of NASA alongside many of history's greatest minds specifically tasked with calculating the momentous launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, and guaranteeing his safe return. Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, and Katherine Johnson crossed all gender, race, and professional lines while their brilliance and desire to dream big, beyond anything ever accomplished before by the human race, firmly cemented them in U.S. history as true American heroes.

Maths and rockets go hand in hand.
If you love space, you'll love this movie. You need extreme maths to get into space. Back in the 1960's African American's were frowned upon, these women showed they had the math skills to do this and show all the scientists there skills. Great drama comedy movie. Excellent. 👍😷👍

Hidden figures
I was enthralled from first moment. Thou rally loved whole movie. Was hoping all way through that we would find out what happened to main characters after the times of movie. It did. Closure was important. Fabulous throughout.

Precise and honest
Intense and eyeopening, brings to light the frustrations and total dedication of those unaccepted as equals in society during the time. Educational, based on truth, definitely recommended as a historical change. Has slow moments but remains engaging throughout.

A women who knows mathamics shows up the so called experts. A good laugh.
America shows its color bar. But the "computers" show them up. An astronaujght would not take off with out the computer being verified but a women computer.
