A real yak butter tea!
I first drank yak butter tea while spending some time in Nepal. When I returned to the US, I tried many times to brew a similar tea, but all attempts fell short. Additionally, it's not easy to find yak milk, much less yak butter, in the US. The Asian food markets I've searched, including the largest one in central Texas (MT Supermarket), do not carry this tea nor any yak dairy products. This instant tea seems very close to the tea I drank so frequently in Nepal. This is the saltier variety; there's also a sweeter version in a blue package, but you can add sugar to this tea to get a similar result.

powered yak butter - no tea
I was looking for Yak butter to demonstrate Tibetian tea with tsampa (barley flour). This is not tea with yak butter, it is just powered yak butter. Not a problem -- just remember to bring the tea!

Would drink all the time if I wasn't used to shu pu-erh
This is good drink with hot water and sweetener. I used coconut sugar, and it was a comfortable way to start winter days. Thanks Y.P.

Creamy
Dissolves quickly in hot water. Tasty and this kind just very slightly salty. Yum.
