The haunting, yet beautiful, true story of two Lesbian Women in Berlin during WWII - one Jewish, one married to a Nazi soldier. Beautifully portrayed and even more beautifully and lovingly filmed. The ending will haunt you for days.
Excellent movie based on real characters during WWII
I bought this movie on VHS several years ago based on a review I read somewhere. The two women were real people living in the worst conditions of WWII. Aimee was the wife of a Nazi officer. Jaguar was Jewish and a partisan underground worker outside her job. They met and began a relationship which by all standards was considered immoral and illegal. They loved each other deeply. Jaguar was unfortunately captured by the Nazis and sent away to a concentration camp and never found. The music is very entertaining. Based on the book about Aimee's recollection of their time together. It is an accurate depiction of the waste and carnage of the Nazis against the citizens of Germany, especially the Jews. It has English subtitles having been produced in Germany with superb actors .A true love story against the depressing daily struggles they faced knowing each day could be their last day of freedom or life. I consider this an important movie for historical facts and telling their love story.
I loved this movie. Wasn't crazy about having to read it, but it was worth it. The fact that it was based on true facts made it more interesting however, pretty sad.
Great acting, great movie!
