Product Information
Fishing can be an easier process when using the Lowrance X-85 Fishfinder. This is a tool that is placed in the water in order to search for the location of fish and make it easier to determine where to place your lines in the water. You can operate this unit from a stationary canoe, kayak, or boat sitting in the water or moving at speeds up to 70 mph. The equipment of the Lowrance Fishfinder works with a sonar connection to the water underneath your craft. Mounting the ultrasonic transducer away from turbulence from the boat engine and parallel to the lake bed or riverbed will minimize noise in the signal. Lowrance uses a high-performance, low-profile 192 kHz Skimmer transducer that produces a wide, effective sonar coverage area of up to 60 degrees using the Advanced Signal Processing (ASP) function. Transmit power is 3 kilowatts peak-to-peak. The Lowrance ASP scrubs the incoming echo signals, eliminating electrical noise from bilge pumps, engine electrical ignition and wiring, air bubbles passing over the face of the transducer, and engine vibration. The ultrasonic sound waves from the transducer reflect from objects in the water and the echoes will be picked up and displayed on the screen of the Lowrance Fishfinder unit. The double-wide 3.3 inches by 3.3 inches high-contrast Film SuperTwist LCD high-resolution screen gives you a 240 rows by 240 column display. The Lowrance X-85 will also support your low-light and night time fishing activities due to its lighted keyboard and display. The Full-Chart display has depth scales that make it easy to judge the depths of fish, structure, or other objects. For ice fishing or stationary operation, the Lowrance FASTRAK mode gives you rapid updates of conditions directly beneath the vessel. At the top of the screen is a line that represents the surface of the water towards the bottom will be thick curved lines that show the profile of the bottom and any structures that are found there. In between are arches that might be fish swimming freely or hiding in structures. A split-screen will allow you to zoom in on detailed images in a portion of the full surface to bottom range. Manual zooming will magnify by 2x or 4x the images in the full range. Adjusting the sensitivity changes the ability of the Lowrance X-85 unit to respond to signals. Low sensitivity reduces the ability to pick up much of the bottom information, fish signals and other target information, while high sensitivity can overwhelm you with too many details from surface clutter and noise. Optimum sensitivity shows a stable top surface and a good solid bottom with some surface clutter. Adjusting Chart Surface Clarity will reduce surface clutter markings caused by wave action, boat wakes, and temperature inversions. Additional Lowrance sensor accessories will add even more finder functionality. The Lowrance X-85 Fishfinder has a FishID function that analyzes signals for you and points out what it thinks are tiny, small, medium, and large fish. The Lowrance patented FISHTRAK will identify the depth associated with each FishID symbol. For utmost simplicity, running the Lowrance X-85 in Automatic mode will free you from manual adjustments of sensitivity, range, and noise rejection to concentrate on just fishing.Product Identifiers
