QLogic SANbox 3810 8Gb/s Fibre Channel Fabric/Switch
This is a "new to us" used QLogic SANbox 3810 Fibre Channel Fabric (somewhat like a switch for Ethernet, but this is Fibre Channel--different name but same function basically). We used this to replace another QLogic SANbox 5602, which maxed out at 4 Gb/s. Changing our ATTO Cards and the QLogic units let us get the full speed of 8Gb/s out of our "Nearline SAN" in our clients post-production facility. We now can transfer data right around the 8Gb/s theoretical max of 800 MB/s between our "Online SAN" and the "Nearline SAN" we use for backing up projects.
